01 Sep Responding to Hostile Emails
This summer I attended a seminar on Managing High Conflict Disputes put on by Victoria BC mediator, Micheal Lomax. He taught us a technique used to respond to hostile emails called a B.I.F.F. Response – keep it Brief, Informative, Friendly and Firm.
This technique was created by Bill Eddy, LCSW, Esq. of the High Conflict Institute. Though it has a very broad application, I recommend this to my clients to help them calm their communications with their former spouse. This technique can save money, time and agony during a separation and, can help parties resolve their family law matters quickly and sensibly.
